ALNO AG: Milestones of corporate history

Since its establishment more than 80 years ago, ALNO AG has achieved many key milestones
and successfully mastered numerous challenges. 


1927 A carpentry workshop is established by Albert Nothdurft in Wangen near Göppingen
1957 Production commences in Pfullendorf, Baden-Württemberg
1958 The carpentry workshop evolves to become Alno Möbelwerke GmbH + Co. KG (a 51% stake is acquired by AEG in 1970)
1960-1970 Strong growth spurt: Turnover increases within ten years from 2.5 million euro to 35.2 million euro employee figures increase from 95 to 677 over the same period
1969 Establishment of ALNO France S.A.R.L as the first foreign subsidiary
1970 Establishment of N.V. ALNO (Belgium)
1972 Establishment of ALNO Italia S.p.A. + ALNO Iberica, S.A.
1974 Establishment of ALNO (Switzerland) AG commencement of export business
1979 Establishment of ALNO Wellmann
1980 Establishment of ALNO UK Ltd.
1982 Alno-Möbelwerke GmbH + Co. KG is hived off from the AEG Group
1984 Establishment of ALNO Nederland
1990 Introduction of the multi-brand strategy establishment of Impuls Küchen GmbH in Brilon (North Rhine-Westphalia)
1992 Establishment of ALNO Austria
1994 Establishment of pino Küchen GmbH in Klieken (Saxony-Anhalt)
1995 IPO opens up the company to capital markets
1999 Turnover milestone of half a billion euro exceeded
2000 Raimund Denk becomes Chief Executive Officer at ALNO AG
2002 Dr. Frank Gebert becomes Chief Executive Officer at ALNO AG
2003 Merger with the Casawell Service Group (Wellmann, Geba, Wellpac), Acquisition of Gustav Wellmann KG, Sale of ALNO non-kitchen participations, Concentration on core business
2004 Realignment of the Casawell Group, Sale of Casawell non-kitchen participations, Positive Group results for the first time in seven years, Merger of ALNO Austria + ALNO Wellmann to form ALNO Austria
2005 Establishment of ALNO Middle East and opening of new production facility in Dubai
2007 Dr. Georg Kellinghusen becomes Chief Executive Officer at ALNO AG, Küchen Holding GmbH joins as a major shareholder, Commencement of restructuring
2009 Jörg Deisel becomes Chief Executive Officer at ALNO AG, Award as one of Germany’s “Superbrands 2009/2010”
2011 Max Mueller becomes Chief Executive Officer at ALNO AG
